About Me

I was literally born “Nice”. Donna Marie Nice to be exact! I was Born on Christmas Day, Baptized on Easter and I’ve been Celebrating ever since.
I was the 4th child to be born to my “Nice” parents…arriving after Danny, Diane & Derry, but just before Dennis.
I didn’t marry the boy next door, but I did find the love of my life just around the corner.
We’ve celebrated over 30 years of marriage together.
I love coffee, coffee in the morning, coffee with friends, coffee dates and old vintage coffee pots, basically anything to do with coffee!
I love road trips with my husband Nick…anywhere & everywhere.
We have two girls, the Joy of our lives, Dahlia Marie & Savannah Raye Jean.
We have two grand-twins, the other Joys of our lives, Henley Rose & Jackson Dean.
We both grew up in what was once the little town of Simi Valley. Nevada County has been home since 2001.

About Joy of Life

As a Certified Professional Wedding and Event Planner, with over 20 years of education and experience in the hospitality industry, I have established a well rounded event management background with tremendous expertise in planning special events. With an extensive hospitality management resume, I possess an in-depth industry knowledge and experience that ensures seamlessly planned and executed events. I provide a refreshing “insider’s” approach to creating and producing events that has proven to be invaluable to my clients.

My objective is to approach my role as coordinator with an artistic aesthetic providing my clients with dedicated, personal service.

I believe events should be designed to be a reflection of my clients. I am inspired by the story of my clients, often drawing on inspiration from their chosen environment, season, texture & colors. Residing near the quaint historic towns of Nevada City & Grass Valley, I am also inspired by the beauty of my surroundings. I have a passion for “The Art of the Event” and love to inspire possibilities in my clients.

Joy of Life Events was established in 2005 and has since planned and designed hundreds of events from California to Tennessee.
